Syntropic Garden Tours
We grow food using Mother Nature’s natural intelligence through Syntropic Farming (agroforestry) on our one acre demonstration farm in Woombye. We encourage community engagement in managing the food forest and learning how to grow and process home-grown food all year round. Ask us about our Garden Club membership.
Garden Talks and Tours take place throughout the winter months.
Join retired avocado farmer Jim Hodgetts and his wife Julia Peddie for a talk and tour of their demonstration Syntropic farm and food forest, in Woombye on the Sunshine Coast. (Through to end of November)
Every inch of their 1 acre permaculture garden is packed with edible plants, 'biomass' to feed the garden, and hundreds of potted plants ready to go (for those with a plant buying addiction). They will share with you their learning journey in building their 7 year old food forest and hopefully inspire people to grow food forests in their backyards.
Enjoy tasting seasonal food picked straight from the garden. If you are staying for the organic lunch to follow ($50pp), you will be invited to pick your own salads, weeds & herbs along the way (depending on seasonal availability).

An Illustrated Guide to Agroforestry is an excellent handbook for understanding the basic principles and concepts of Syntropic gardening. It is full of great information in a cartoon format and is easily accessible for visual learners.
